The Incredibles is a 2004 American computer-animated superhero film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Brad Bird. The film follows the Parr family, a family of superheroes who are forced to live in hiding and take on ordinary jobs after a series of lawsuits force all superheroes to retire.
The patriarch of the family, Bob Parr, also known as Mr. Incredible (voiced by Craig T. Nelson), longs to return to his glory days as a superhero and eventually finds himself drawn back into action. Alongside his wife, Helen Parr (voiced by Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, and their children Violet and Dash, Bob must work to defeat a powerful villain named Syndrome (voiced by Jason Lee), who has hatched a plan to eliminate all superheroes and become a hero himself.
The film is known for its stylish and retro-futuristic design, as well as its engaging characters and exciting action sequences. The film also features a strong family dynamic and explores themes of identity, conformity, and the pressures of society.
The Incredibles was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $633 million worldwide. The film won two Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature and Best Sound Editing, and has since become a beloved classic in the superhero and animation genres. A sequel, Incredibles 2, was released in 2018.
