The underworld forces in Massachusetts south of Boston are extremely rampant, the largest gang being the Irish gang run by Frank (Jack Nicholson). In order to exterminate them, the police decided to send police academy graduate Billy (Leonardo DiCaprio Leonardo DiCaprio) to ambush them as undercover. The cynicism of the police officer made Billy, who had lived at the bottom, very unhappy. He had hoped to be an upright policeman, but he had to obey orders under pressure. After the baptism of burning, killing, and looting, he won Frank’s trust. . At the same time, Colin (Matt Damon), who is also a graduate, won an award from his superiors for his anti-personnel crimes, and he is preparing for a marriage with his favorite girlfriend. But in fact, he was a pawn that Frank inserted into the police force, and the two colluded for personal gain. The police and robbers successively discovered that there was an inner ghost, and a game of cat and mouse began…
The film won the 79th Academy Awards for Best Picture, and Martin Scorsese won the Best Director Award.
