“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is a 2000 comedy film directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, and Jeffrey Tambor. The film is based on the classic children’s book of the same name by Dr. Seuss.

The story follows the Grinch (Carrey), a grumpy and bitter creature who hates Christmas and lives alone on top of a mountain overlooking the town of Whoville. When the Whos in Whoville begin to celebrate Christmas with great enthusiasm, the Grinch decides to steal their presents and decorations in order to ruin their holiday.

However, the Grinch’s plan is thwarted by a young girl named Cindy Lou Who (Momsen), who befriends the Grinch and teaches him the true meaning of Christmas. Along the way, the Grinch confronts his own loneliness and learns to appreciate the joy and spirit of the holiday season.

The film features elaborate sets and costumes, as well as Jim Carrey’s signature physical comedy and improvisation. It also includes a soundtrack featuring songs by artists such as Faith Hill, Busta Rhymes, and the film’s star, Jim Carrey.

“How the Grinch Stole Christmas” was a box office success, grossing over $345 million worldwide. It received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising Carrey’s performance and the film’s production design, while others criticized its heavy-handed sentimentality and deviations from the original book. Nevertheless, the film has since become a holiday classic and is often broadcast on television during the Christmas season.
