“Hook” is a 1991 American fantasy adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Robin Williams as Peter Banning/Peter Pan, Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook, Julia Roberts as Tinker Bell, and Bob Hoskins as Smee. The movie is a sequel to J.M. Barrie’s 1911 novel “Peter and Wendy,” and takes place several years after the events of the book.

In the film, Peter Banning has grown up and forgotten his past as Peter Pan. However, when his children are kidnapped by Captain Hook, Peter is forced to return to Neverland and rediscover his true identity as the boy who never grew up. Along the way, he is helped by Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys as he battles Hook and his pirates to save his family and reclaim his youth.

“Hook” received mixed reviews upon its release, but has since gained a cult following. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $300 million worldwide. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Makeup, and Best Original Song for “When You’re Alone.” Despite not winning any of these awards, “Hook” has become a beloved classic among many fans of Spielberg’s work and the Peter Pan story.
